Rakta Mayūra Valli — “The Crimson Vine of the Peacock” — is a beautifully traditional Madurai Chettinadu cotton saree that combines a rich deep brick-maroon body with an ornate olive-to-bottle-green and antique-gold zari border.

The body is deliberately kept plain and dignified, allowing the magnificence of the border to take centre stage. A slender green framing line introduces the broad antique-gold zari panel, where large traditional peacock motifs are woven in rhythmic succession. Fine geometric detailing and textured zari bands complete the border, giving it the grandeur of an heirloom-inspired South Indian weave.

The warm maroon body and muted green border create an earthy, deeply traditional colour combination, while the antique-gold zari adds just the right amount of festive richness.
